Sonny Lennox McKinlay

Born 11.45am on 26/02/2009. 4.04kg. Another strapping young lad, with a good set of lungs, a healthy appetite, and what is shaping up like an excellent ability to sleep. He's a bit like Frankie and Ted before him but, as Granny McGoff often said, "He's like himself".

Sonny, here you finally are - completing our family, we're looking forward to growing up with you and your big brothers. Here's tae us...

D200, part one

Fritha and Frankie take Fritha's new Nikon D200 out for a stroll. This shot is raw. I love the colour, and I forgot how important real aperture control is. Our Canon Powershot G6 has been a pretty good little camera but now it tastes like Monteith's Black, next to Liefman's Goudenband. The D200 is the go. If you want good photos, folks, toss your Coolpix, Ixus, Powershots and Finepix into the nearest body of water (or at least put them in the drawer).

ps. The colour of Frankie's legs will give you some idea of just how cold it was.

Frankie does his best drunken monkey interpretation. This walking style and a highly strung dog are a dangerous combination.

Ted, at 72hrs

Here's a little something for those who find the earlier shots a little difficult to deal with.

We're all home and settling in now. Both boys are sleeping and mama's got her feet up. Frankie and Ted are yet to fully acknowledge each other but I'm sure that'll come along in the next few days.

Not so little Brother, like big Brother

Born 21/03/2007, at 10:34, after a smooth surgical 3 minutes. A healthy, strapping, 4.2kg boy. Ted, we look forward to you growing up (alongside your big brother) as we grow old. Love you, you little monster. Here's tae us...

Three minutes after the first incision, Ted's being introduced to his mother. Barely enought time for Dad to fire off half a dozen photo's (and certainly not enough to switch to video mode, as he'd hoped).
